Timberline

by Mike Moxcey

March 1982, Colorado Springs
after a band named Timberline.

Harmony singers sing Timberli-i-i-i-i-ne
and the lead singer starts singing the rest of the chorus line during the li-i-i-ne

chorus:

       C                     G
Timberline....i........i........i........ine.....
find mountain flowers way up past the trees
       C               Em        A              D
Timberline....i........i........i........ine.....
bright mountain sunshine, cool, mountain breeze
       C                             G
Timberline....i........i........i........ine.....
high above the clouds in the crisp mountain air
       C       D                C  D   G
Timberline....i........i........i........ine.....
life is fine when you're way up there.

1. There's a place in the mountains and I'm going there
where I can see forever in the cool, thin air.
It's good for a body or for a worried mind
hiking up in the mountains to the timberline.

2. Living in the city or working on the farm
can cause a lot of worry which can cause a lot of harm.
When it gets a little rough, just take a little time
and walk up in the mountains to the timberline.

3. I don't go to church but I worship my own way.
I go up in the mountains where I like to pray.
I open up my heart and He lets His glory shine
'cause that is where the Lord lives, up past timberline.
