Relativity Blues

by Mike Moxcey

July, 1981.  Colorado Springs, CO.  LooArt Press

I went to outer space but it was a real drag
'cause when I got back I found out that my wife was an old hag.
What am I gonna do about these relativity blues?

Relativity, it took away my friends.
Relativity, it don't even make sense.
I wish it would please let me be, relativity.

They discovered hyperdrive so I gave it a whirl,
but when I got back my wife was just a seven-year old girl.
Now what am I gonna do with these relativity blues?

Relativity, I wish it would go away.
Relativity, just let me live day to day.
I wish it would please let me be, relativity.

I went away tomorrow, I'll get back yesterday.
Verb tenses are confusing, they make it hard to say
what I'm gonna do with these relativity blues.

Relativity, it screws up my time.
Relativity, it screws up my mind.
I wish it would please let me be, relativity.

I talk to myself, but it ain't so weird
'cause there's probably seven or eight of me here,
but no one knows what to do about these relativity blues.

Relativity, creates so much pain.
Relativity, it makes me insane.
I wish it would please let me be, relativity.
