JailBait

by Mike Moxcey

typical bluegrass style.  A friend of mine complained how I never wrote any bluegrass songs so I wrote this high-energy, good harmony song that celebrated family values.

I / IV / I / V /
I / IV / I V I /

1. I didn't know she was just fourteen
or I never would have done what I did.
I thought she was older, I never would have rolled her
if I had known she was just a kid.

chorus:
Jailbait, I didn't know her age
I never asked and she never said.
Jailbait, look what it's done to me
she wasn't even very good in bed.

2. She didn't act young like some women that I know
and I've never seen a figure that was finer.
I wanted to get married but she said, "That's kind of scary."
I never, ever knew she was a minor.

3. She never took me home to her ma and pa.
she said it wouldn't be any fun.
But she called me up one day and said her pa was on his way.
That's when I met her family and their guns.

4. The judge called me a lowlife creep
and sent me off to the county farm.
When I get paroled I'll be eighty-nine years old
and I never, ever did any harm.
