Sitting in the back-seat leaning on a case,
I'd like to move my legs but there isn't any space.
Packed it pretty tight 'cause there ain't no room to waste,
couldn't bring my wife 'cause I had to bring the bass.

Got to the festival, jumped out of the car,
dug out all the instruments and grabbed me a guitar.
Started picking early and I picked till it's late.
Didn't even get to hear the bands up on the stage.

We picked as the sun set, learning new tunes,
then we got a little wild and we howled at the moon.
There was jamming through the campground, picking all night,
I didn't get to sleep 'til I saw the morning light
