1. The end of October is hard to get over
it brings lots of questions to mind.
There must be an answer some place in New Hampshire
it shouldn't be too hard to find.
2. You'll find it there in the crisp autumn air
under an old apple tree.

3. I thought it was best if I moved way out west
to start a new life as a rancher.
But I'll never get over the end of October
the way that it dies in New Hampshire.
