A Bottle Full of Air

by Mike Moxcey

Colorado Springs

1. I left my family, friends, and girl quit my job and left the world.
Into outer space I went alone.
I signed up with the company and signed away my dignity.
Now I wish I'd never left my home.

chorus:
You'd better listen up they say and work your butt off every day.
Don't eat much, don't sleep much and don't you dare complain
'cause if the company don't like you you'll be stranded off somewhere
with just a cold reactor and a bottle full of air.

2.  An old spaceman I met out here says he's lost track of the years.
He says don't think, just work, and don't complain.
I asked the boss when could I leave. He said, "When you learn not to breathe."
Now I just work and hope to go insane.

3. I had a plan to mutiny but went about it stupidly.
I got caught when I stole three spacesuits.
My money and my job I lost. For punishment, they made me boss.
I take my anger out on new recruits.

Final chorus:
You'd better listen up I say and work your butt off every day.
Don't eat much, don't sleep much and don't you dare complain
'cause if one of us don't like you you'll be stranded off somewhere
with just a cold reactor and a bottle full of air.
