1. Well I looked over Jordan and what did I see
   coming for to carry me home?
   A band of angels coming after me,
   coming for to carry me home.
2. If you get there before I do coming for to carry me home.
   tell my folks that I'm coming, too coming for to carry me home.
3. Jordan River is deep and wide ... milk and honey on the other side ...
4. Jordan River is deep and cold ... chills the body but not the soul ...
5. I'm sometimes up and I'm sometimes down ... but still my soul is heavenward bound
6. I ain’t been to heaven but I've been told ...the streets in heaven are paved with gold ...
7. That ain't all I got more besides ...I've been to the river and I've been baptized ...
8. Let me tell you what's a matter of fact ...once you leave the devil you never go back.
9. You see them women who dress so fine ...well they ain't got Jesus on their minds ...
10. If salvation was a thing that money could buy... then the rich would live and the poor would die
11. But I'm so glad God made it so ...that the rich must die just as well as the poor ...
